The care behind the words
Sources and editorial approach
A short guide to how this first edition is written, what its sources mean, and what still needs review.
What these articles are
Our articles are original introductions to Islamic teachings. They describe beliefs as beliefs and distinguish them from historical context. They are not a translation of the Qur’an, a complete theological study, or individual religious advice.
Scripture, translation, and commentary
A Qur’an reference identifies a chapter and verse. A translation offers a human rendering of the Arabic meaning; tafsir is explanatory commentary. We link readers to the source instead of presenting unattributed translated passages.
Hadith and diversity of interpretation
Hadith references identify the collection or report. Our introductory use of the six articles of faith and the five pillars draws on al-Nawawi’s collection, a Sunni source. Other Muslim traditions may structure theological discussion differently. Source authenticity and interpretation are related but distinct questions.
Current review status
Content was prepared with AI assistance on 21 October 2026. Source links were checked during development. Qualified human religious review has not yet taken place. We do not claim scholarly approval or a review board.
Corrections and future review
Before expanding this resource, each article should receive a qualified human review of factual accuracy, religious nuance, and accessibility. Revisions should record the page, source, reason for the change, and date. A public corrections contact has not yet been established; we do not offer a submission form that cannot be delivered.
